Craft Lake City, Saturday 8/8, 2pm-10pm at the Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main St, SLC:Gallivan Center and Slug Magazine are bringing you this outdoor alternative arts festival showcasing 62 vendors specializing in handmade goods such as: silk screened posters, progressive crafts, DIY designs, reconstructed clothing, knitted items, jewelry, letter-pressed books and more. Affordable prices and original, artful pieces will be emphasized in every merchant’s booth.
Whether you are head of your homemaking night or an emerging DIY artist, Craft Lake City is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the local handmade community.
Kids Fest Carnival at Wheeler Farm, 10am- 6pm Saturday, 8/8: The Salt Lake Board of Realtors offers up its annual Kids Fest Carnival, featuring games, food, activity booths, a classic car show, rides, and slides. Free to attend, but most of the activities has a minimal fee. The event is a fundraiser for The Christmas Box House.

Salt Lake County Fair: Features all the normal county fair events such as livestock exhibits, petting zoo, crafts, vendor booths, carnival rides, etc. See the full schedule here. There are several free kid's activities being offered. My family tends to opt out of the events that cost money and participates in the kids events instead. Petting zoos are so fun! I was impressed at how many fun, free events there were last year at the county fair!
The Salt Lake County Fair is hosted by the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park and Events Center, 11400 South 2100 West, South Jordan, Utah. Admission is FREE, but there is a $5.00 parking fee.
