Fun Events this Weekend!

The holiday season begins with several fun events here in Utah...
Light up the Night Concert: Saturday, 11/21 at 6pm. Families can kick start the holiday season at The Gateway with an annual tree lighting ceremony and holiday carol sing-along, featuring special guests Jon Schmidt and One Voice Children's Choir. Hot chocolate is provided. Takes place at the Olympic Legacy Plaza, near the north end of The Gateway. More info here.

Utah Valley University Chamber Orchestra Performance: Friday, 11/20 at 7:30pm, Regan Theater, 800 West University Parkway, Orem. The Chamber Orchestra consists of select instrumentalists who perform a wide range of repertoire from the Eighteenth Century to the present. In this small-orchestra setting, members receive in-depth training in technique, stylistic interpretation, and ensemble skills.

Winter Arts and Crafts Market: Saturday, 11/21, 10am- 8pm. Handcrafted arts and ethnic products are for sale at the annual Winter Arts and Crafts Market, and folks can check out live music and dance performances, interactive arts, and Trees of Diversity (a holiday tree exhibit). Gardner Village's Elf Scavenger Hunt: Ongoing daily, starting this weekend, Mon-Sat 10am-8pm. Families can explore Gardner Village's elf displays during the annual Elf Hunt. Children can pick up a form at any village store, or print one out from the Gardner Village website, then search for the answers throughout the village. Once the form is completed, bring it to Sweet Afton's and receive a free sugar stick. Go here to get started!

The Utah Chocolate Show: Friday & Saturday, 11/20-11/21, 11am- 9pm. Families can view displays of chocolate and chocolate creations, create yummy treats and gifts in hands-on classrooms, learn the secrets behind cooking and creating with chocolate, and sample some of the best chocolates in Utah. Buy tickets at the door or order online; tickets are good for both days of the show. Adults, $7, kids 5 and under are free. Rocky Mountain Christmas Fest: Fri 10am-8pm; Sat 10am-6pm. The Rocky Mountain Christmas Fest offers two day of holiday vendors, live performances, free photos with Santa (Fri 4pm-8pm and Sat 11am-3pm), and food demonstrations. Utah State Fairpark, 155 North 1000 West, Salt Lake City. Admission free; Parking $3. More info here.
