Swagbucks: All the Details

As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of Swagbucks! Here's a simple guide to Swagbucks for those of you interested in learning more about what the program is and how it works.

What is it?
In a nutshell, Swagbucks is a search engine. It's a combination of Google and Ask.com. If you use it to do regular Internet searches, you randomly win Swagbucks. As you accumulate Swagbucks, you redeem them for prizes like gift cards and electronics. A $5 amazon.com e-gift card is only 450 Swagbucks. A $20 e-gift card to Target.com is 2,200 Swagbucks. Save up 30,000 and you can get an Apple i-Touch!

It doesn't take any extra effort on your part. Just about everyone searches the Internet on a daily basis. By doing something you'd normally do, you simultaneously earn Swagbucks.

How much do you earn?
It really depends on how much searching you do! I've never won more than 1 per hour. I'm on and off the computer a lot during the day and I generally win at least 50 each day. It adds up fast though, earning 30 each day equates to 900 in a month, 10,800 in a year- which is $120 in Amazon.com cash to use! You can buy quite a few packages of diapers from Amazon with $120!!

Just know that the first 2-3 weeks, it's not uncommon to earn hardly anything. But I just kept plugging away and soon, started earning more and more. Now, several months later, I easily earn 50-70 each day.

It did help tremendously to download the Swagbucks toolbar. Once it was easily accessible, I used it more frequently and the amount I was earning went up dramatically.

 

Are there tricks to earning more? There isn't a certain website or search term that will guarantee you earning Swagbucks. It's much more specific to how often you're searching through their toolbar or website, as opposed to what you're searching for. I use the toolbar every time I do a search and do about 5-20 searches each day. Generally, when I earn a Swagbuck, it's just for one. But once again, it's random- about once a week I earn 2 or 3 Swagbucks in one search!

One tip I have- it takes a couple extra steps, but it pays off. Instead of using your favorites on your web browser, type it in as a Swagbucks search instead. Instead of just clicking to your email, type" Gmail" in the Swagbucks toolbar. If you do this each time, you'll be adding a few more searches to your day, which increases your chance of winning.
 
Not only that, but each and every Friday is Mega Swagbucks Day! Your chances of earning 3 or more Swagbucks in a single search increases dramatically on Fridays.

You can also complete special offers via the Swagbucks website. Here's how to do it:

1. Go to the Swagbucks site and register. {if you haven't already done so!}
2. Click on Ways to Earn
3. Select Special offers in the drop down menu.
4. Click on the No Obligation Offers box on the right hand side of the page.
5. Skip each of the offers by clicking "No" or "Skip."
6. On the last page, you will find a Swag code worth 1 Swagbuck! Enter it in a SwagCode box on the homepage and press "Gimme."
