Buy 5 participating Quaker products, save $5 instantly,
which makes the deal 5 for $5, or only $1 each!
Participating items include: Cap'n Crunch Original, Crunchberry, or Peanut butter. Life cereal, original or cinnamon, Quaker instant oatmeal, select varieties. There are two printables here that would make for completely FREE items:
- $1/1 any Quaker Instant oatmeal
- $1/1 any Quaker True Delights oatmeal {if this variety is included in the sale}
However, it's pretty unrealistic to think many of us would be able to round up enough computers to print 5-10 coupons, so the solution is also in today's mail! In every Associated Food Store ad is a manufacturers coupon for $3 off any 5 participating Quaker products! This coupon has been in the AFS ads several times before and it is a manufacturers coupon that can be used anywhere. I've used it at Target and Walmart in the past year. Not even factoring in the printables above, here's what the deal would look like:
Update: The fine print on SOME of the coupons do state, "Good Only at Participating Associated Foods Stores." This is new- I've never seen this verbiage before on this manufacturers coupon! I think this is going to be a YMMV situation- meaning some may have varying experiences. People have had success using a manufacturers coupon with a Target logo at stores other than Target. What do you think?
Update Part 2: I just got off the phone with a Smith's manager who stated they will gladly take the coupon!
Purchase 5 participating Quaker items, Cap'n Crunch or Life cereal, $2 each
- Subtotal: $10
- Save $5 instantly
- Use $3/5 coupon from AFS ads
- Final price: $2, or .40 each item!
Purchase 5 participating boxes of Quaker instant oatmeal, $2 each
- Subtotal: $10
- Save $5 instantly
- Use four $1/1 coupons from above
- Final price: $1, or .20 each item!

I'm actually kind of excited for this one! ;o)
This is great news! Life is my family's favorite and our total cereal stash is down to 4 boxes!
Oh - these make me sooo excited! We go through oatmeal and granola bars like crazy at our house! I even had my husband print 2 from his work computer! LOL hehe!
The 3.00 / 5 coupon was in my Harmons ad this week as well.
Also, my Smiths ad says only one 5.00 discount per transaction.
ALERT!!! The fine print in the Smiths ad says "limit $5 off per transaction".
So you will want to only buy FIVE at a time and use ONE $3/5 Q.
* Subtotal: $10
* Save $5 instantly
* Use one $3/5 coupons from AFS ads
* Final price: $2, or .40 each item!
If you buy ten at a time, you will only get the $5/5 automatic deduction once, not twice.
* Subtotal: $20
* Save $5 instantly
* Use two $3/5 coupons from AFS ads
* Final price: $9, or .90 each item!
Just a note about your scenario for the cereal. My Smith's ad states that only $5 will come off per transaction. So you don't want to purchase 10 items in one transaction; break it up into 2 (or more)transactions.
Another note...In the past, when there have been the manuf. q's in the AFS ads on the same week as a competitor has had the Quaker Sales, shoppers have gone into the AFS store and stolen their ads to use at the other store. I have seen it turn outright DIRTY! I have also seen the competitor stores reject those coupons in all fairness to the other store.
Please, people, not only is this completely unethical, and it could jeopardize the deal for others, but the stores COULD get you for shoplifting. Just sayin.....
K that's awesome! I opened my ads and wondered if I could use the $3 off one at Smith's. I'm excited to try it tomorrow!
Jessica the $3/5 coupon in the associated foods ad state only to be used at Associated Foods Stores.
I have used these coupons in the past on the quaker promo. But don't remember seeing the wording printed on the coupons.
I hope you are not setting people up to be embarrased at the store when their coupons are rejected.
If you live near an Albertsons, they also have that coupon in their ad. $3/5 manufacture coupon.
As a side note, it is not shoplifting to take a couple of ads or just the coupon. They put the ads out there as a marketing idea to get you to shop at that store. If you feel guilty about it, purchase a few of their sale items from their store.
See the updates I posted!
THANK You for all your hard work posting deals. Money is so tight for my family right now. Your web site truly helps us.
Thank you
I am looking at my coupons right now... One of them states "Good only at participating Associated Food Stores" the other 2 do not. I got them out of the Reams ad, Macey's and Harmons. I can't remember which came from where , but I thought that was interesting. Also, they all have different expiration dates. Just an observation.
Wow! Nice to know. I always thought the AFS coupons were only for AFS stores. Thanks for the info. How do you print 4 coupons?
If the coupon says it's good only at AF stores I would feel guilty about using it elsewhere - doesn't quite seem right to me.
I just called the Syracuse Smiths and they said that they wouldn't take the coupon because they wouldn't get reimbursed from the manufacturer. Apparently Associated Foods has a contract with Quaker and Smiths does not.
The Reams and Harmons coupons do not state anything about "only good at..." The upc on all 4 of the coupons I have is the same though, including the ones from Maceys and Fresh Market.
i did it this morning and it worked great! 2 5/5 deals in one transaction. 10 boxes for 4.30 with tax!! :) thanks again!
I do not have a Smith's in my town. Does anyone have an idea how I can get this deal? We have a City Market. Does anyone know if there are any Smiths close to Grand Junction, CO? Any ideas??? I need to stock up on these cereals. HELP
I just went to Smith's & used 3 of the coupons no problem.
I do not have a Smith only a Kroger. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this great deal. Is there a way to get the cereal shipped and use my coupons. Help anyone!!!!!
This is definitely a YMMV. My Smith's accepted the coupons. I called before I went and explained the scenario because I didn't want them to lose money if they indeed could not be paid for me using the coupons. They said as long as it is a maufacturer's coupon it can be redeemed. I went this morning and it worked great!
Herriman Smiths is not accepting the $3/5 coupon.
Any idea if the Provo Smiths is accepting the $3/5 coupon?
worked great for me! I was able to do 10 boxes of cereal in one transaction they said they thought they could only do 5 at a time but figured out they could do the 10 and it worked! I also did a separate transaction for the oatmeal deal where I printed off 4 coupons - worked like a charm :)
West Jordan (9000 S. 4000 W.) Smith's was taking the Macey's coupon this morning, but not anymore. They will take the coupon from the Harmon's ad. They will allow 10 boxes and get $10 off per transaction.
My Smith's didn't take the coupon with only good at AFS Stores. The checker said that Smith's wouldn't get paid for those coupons.
The Smiths in Sunset was taking them until last night but will no longer be accepting them because of an e-mail that came down from corporate. I think the stores will start to reject them if the coupon says, "only at participating Associated Foods"
The (Sandy, Kearns, Magna, West Jordan, Layton, Westood & Heber)REAM'S in-ad coupon for the Quaker products DOES NOT have "only at participating Associated Foods" anywhere on it! I checked and double-checked.
I couldn't use mine this morning. They got a memo this morning saying they will not take them. It says right on my coupons that they are ONLY to be used at AF Stores.
Vernal, UT will not take the coupons. I tried this morning and the cashier said they could not. Dang!
