My Smith's Trip: 51% Savings!

I had the chance to go to Smith's last night and take advantage of the Kellogg's/ Quaker cereal & milk deal. I didn't have a lot on my list, but I needed a breather from the kids so I took some time and wandered around.

I ended up finding quite a few great markdowns, so I was pleased! I got discounted organic eggs, corn tortillas, Peach salad dressing, fresh green beans and bananas. I see monkey bars in the near future!

My pre-sale and coupon total was $62.09 but I spent just $30.63, which represents a 51% savings!

I used the $1/1 Jennie-O Turkey Sausage coupon and got each for $1.99. Not a bad deal! I also used the $1.50/1 Silk quart coupon to get each for only .50!

There's also a $1/2 Kellogg's Mini-Wheats coupon in this week's Red Plum insert- so I got two boxes of the Fruit in the Middle cereal that's one of the participating $1.99 boxes!

Anyone else shop at Smith's this week? My store here in Bountiful was very well-stocked, so I think I might go back and get more milk & cereal!

I want to do the Kellogg's/milk deal, but my family does not drink much milk. 2 gallon would spoil before we could drink it all. Have you ever frozen milk? Does it change the texture or taste after you thaw it? Are there any tricks or special things you need to know, or do you just stick the gallon jug in your freezer?
