My Smith's Grocery Trip: 52% Savings- includes case lot items!!

Pin It

I decided to take the kids grocery shopping this morning as I wanted to take advantage of the Smith's P&G sale and get a couple case lot items. I had my $3 off $50 purchase coupon  that expires tomorrow, 1/8, plus another $1 off I won from their latest instant win game, so I was ready to shop!

I walked in the door and noticed my store had replenished their dwindling supply of mini carts for kids. Too bad my kids noticed too. I have a love-hate relationship with those little carts. Sometimes the kids do so well with them. Other times {like today} they get taken away mid-shopping trip and the poor little cart is abandoned on whatever aisle I happen to lose it on. Despite that, we did okay!

My pre-coupon and sale total was $170.01 but I spent only $80.92, which is a 52% savings! I used over $16 in coupons alone {which nearly pays for a newspaper subscription for an entire year!}

I'm pretty happy with that as well, being as I got a case of canned corn, 20-lbs of rice, 5 dozen eggs, 5 bottles of Tide, a big package of Bounty paper towels, 5 bottles of shampoo/ conditioner, 4 deodorants, 4 tubes of toothpaste and more!

If you need pasta and have that $1/2 Barilla coupon from yesterday's SS insert, Smith's has all Barilla pasta for $1- and the sale includes the whole wheat and whole grain varieties! So I got each box of pasta for .50. Not a stellar deal, but it's decent being as it's really good pasta!

There's a .50/3 Hunt's pasta sauce e-coupon here. They're on sale for $1, so just .83 after coupon, which is cheaper than the .88 case lot price.

My boxes of Maple & Brown Sugar Quaker oatmeal packets also contained a small insert with 5 high value Quaker coupons! Had I known that I would have gotten all 4 boxes in that variety!

Sidenote: Smith's is having problems with some of the $3 off $50 coupons. If yours doesn't work, call 1-888-553-3003 and they'll load another one on your card for you!

Anyone spot the bonus in the picture above?! She's so cute- I think she thought I was taking a picture of her.   My other kids know better by now... "No, sweet Leah, mommy is taking a picture of the groceries this time. It happens often, you'll get used to it."

Thanks for letting me know about the phone number. I missed the $3 off coupon and also another ecoupon that didn't come off. Called and they loaded a credit onto my card!

Let them know if the $3 off $50 purchase. Mine didn't come off on Saturday, so I emailed them and they reloaded it on my card today.
