Giveaway: 2 Dave Ramsey Deluxe Envelope Systems from Zions Bank

Several years ago, my husband's employer gave us a copy of Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover and I was very surprised to find that I actually enjoyed reading it!  I never thought that I would find a financial book to be understandable, inspiring and interesting...but it really is!  After reading the book, I was even more motivated to get our family finances in better order.  No matter what your income and financial situation is, you can get out of debt and increase your savings.  Anyone can do it!  A recent article stated that nearly half of all Americans are just one emergency away from financial ruin.  That is a really scary statistic!

For the past 10 years, Zions Bank has been hosting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace courses, helping thousands of individuals and families to get out of debt and learn how to save.  These classes are available at dozens of locations throughout Utah, and Zions Bank is offering course scholarships to single parents and Utah military members that are deployed overseas.  Many classes begin February 13, and the first "Super Saving" class is free for those who want to learn more.  When you sign up for the course, you get a lifetime membership so you can attend the classes anytime you need a refresher.  You also get all the lessons on CD so you can listen to them whenever you want.

I was able to preview the DVD of the initial "Super Saving" class and it was excellent!  The star of the show is Dave Ramsey himself and he is a pretty funny guy!  My kids were in the room when I was watching it, and although I think a lot of it went over their heads, they were even laughing at several different parts!  Zions Bank also sent me a Dave Ramsey Deluxe Envelope system to try out and I am anxious to see how much money I can save this way.  Using this system helps you to actually see how much money you have in each area of your budget each month...and it makes it really easy to see when it's gone too!  If you are having trouble staying within your budget, using cash can be a great way to exercise more control over your money!

For more information about obtaining a scholarship or to start your own Financial Peace University course with a group of 15 or more, email endprogram at zionsbank dot com.  You can also "like" Zions Bank on Facebook or follow them on Twitter for Financial Peace University updates.

My goal is to have less debt. I'm getting there it just feels slow. I don't think I can pay it all off this year but I'd like to have a good chunk of it gone.

We know that we are needing to replace our roof and most likely our furnace and would like to do so in cash. Which means we have some savings we need to get cracking on!
