How to Save on Prescription Drugs with a Free App plus a $25 AmEx Gift Card Giveaway!

With rising healthcare costs, and deductibles and copays that add up fast, many of us are feeling the pinch when it comes to medical bills. Families are still shouldering a lot of the financial burdens associated with healthcare expenses, including prescription drugs.

LowestMed is a free app that can help with that, and it was created by a Utahn!

The LowestMed app gives you the ability to view and compare drug prices at supermarkets and pharmacies in your neighborhood. And the fact that it’s totally anonymous is almost as good as the money you’ll save. They don’t ask for or track any personal information and you don’t need to sign up for an account.

All you do is type in the drug you want, enable your GPS or type in your zip code, and a list of nearby supermarkets and pharmacies will appear with how much the drug will cost at each pharmacy. No more wondering how much your drug is going to cost. You know before you even fill the prescription!  How cool is that!

This app is great for people who don’t have insurance to save on their prescriptions, but it can also help even if you have insurance. Many prescription drugs can be very expensive even with insurance, or certain drugs like non-generics may not be covered. Plus LowestMed has discounts for some over-the-counter medications.

With many of us on high-deductible insurance plans and making expensive trips to the pharmacy, this app helps families trying to save money on medications. The LowestMed app is free and available on iPhone, Android or Windows phone devices. For more information about the how to save on prescription drugs with LowestMed, visit www.lowestmed.com or download the app!

LowestMed is giving away a $25 American Express gift card to one of you to help pay for your prescriptions!  Fill out the Rafflecopter below to enter.  Giveaway Ends May 24th at noon.

a Rafflecopter giveaway I would love to know your experience with the App.  Do you find it helpful?  What kind of money has it saved you?  In the last 2 weeks that I've had it on my phone, it's saved me more than $15!

There are several dermatological Rx's that aren't covered by my insurance. This app will come in very handy as I search for the best deal. Thanks!

I really like this idea because I feel like the cost of prescriptions is always a mystery until you actually check out.

I've found great prices at the Intermountain Community Pharmacies. I called around to check prices, and the pharmacies from Intermountain Healthcare had my prescriptions for 30-65% less than anywhere else (Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.).

I hate not knowing the different prices of prescriptions. It is not like you can see the price listed on the shelf. Even though we have insurance, it still matters because of our deductible. I NEED this app.

I am always hunting for deals and I hate not knowing how much prescriptions cost at the different stores. It is not like you can compare shelf stickers. This app is a GREAT idea.

It will stop you from having to call around and ask how much your prescription costs at each pharmacy.

I recommend LowestMed, too. I was skeptical, but it saved me money on my husband's antibiotic. There's also no registration/signup to use their discount card. You just print it and take it with you to the pharmacy. Gotta love easy things that save money :)
